Our brothers love Pilam...and you will too!

"Leaving home was extremely difficult when I moved into college. I come from a family of five boys, so there was something missing in my life after I left. The weeks before recruitment week I had made some amazing friends, but nothing felt similar to the bond I had with my family. I then began to look for a family at Baldwin Wallace, just like my one at home. I did this by going through Recruitment. At the end of Recruitment Week, I pledged Pi Lambda Phi because the brothers made me feel so comfortable and welcomed into their organization. Having such diverse brothers in the organization helped me connect with them. Whether it be similarities in movie interests, hobbies, majors, or involvement on campus, Pilam really offers a lot. Though I have been a brother of Pi Lambda Phi for a short amount of time, the bonds I have made so far are incredible. My brothers motivate and encourage me to be the best person I can be, and without them I do not know where I would be in my life. Since joining Pilam, I have become more comfortable with and confident in who I am. Whether I need to have a heart to heart or someone to go to Taco Bell with, I can always count on a brother to be there. I am so excited to expand our family and make more memories that will surely last a lifetime." Luke Kollin "When I started out at BW, joining a fraternity was the last thing on my mind. But a few months into my first semester, I started wondering what it was like to be a part of the Fraternity and Sorority Community here. My decision to join Pi Lambda Phi is definitely the best decision I’ve made throughout my college career. Joining Pi Lam introduced me to a group of men united by common values, which I immediately connected with and sought to further demonstrate in my personal life. I became part of something much bigger than myself, a cause that means a great deal to me, and most importantly, a family. I love my brothers more than I can express. They are always there to celebrate my successes and help me when I’ve failed. Whether I need help with my homework, advice, or just something stupid to laugh at, I know I can count on these guys for anything. Pi Lam made BW not just a school, but a home for me." Gabe Kocher "Joining Pi Lambda Phi was more than just joining another organization on campus. It was a place that I could call home, and it was a group of men that welcomed me with open arms from the moment they met me. This fraternity has pushed me to be the man that I am today, and for that I am ever grateful! Not Four Years but a Lifetime!" Jon Hogan "I was always a very quiet and reserved person. I wasn’t very involved in any extra-curricular activities in high school but that was something I wanted to change coming into Baldwin Wallace. I had no particular interest in joining Greek Life, however. It wasn’t until recruitment started that I was exposed to it through my college 101 teacher, and director of Greek Life, Marc West. I went to the recruitment info night to get a little bit of a better understanding of what Greek Life entailed. The first couple of chapters I visited seemed like a cool group of guys but I still didn’t see the point. It wasn’t until I visited the Pilam chapter that I felt a connection. I still wasn’t quite sure on the whole joining a fraternity idea but at least I found the group of guys who I felt most comfortable with. I attended a few more of the recruitment events and got to know more of the brothers. Come bid day I decided to give Greek Life a chance and signed my bid for Pi Lambda Phi. After joining, I found myself part of something bigger. I was influenced to join new groups on campus and even take on leadership roles. But what was truly amazing was the amount of support I received from my brothers. At this point I finally understood what being in a fraternity meant. Joining Pilam has given me the confidence to do greater things at BW. To push myself to not only grow as a person but also to be support and encourage others as well. Joining Pilam has made a tremendous impact in my life. I wouldn’t be where I am today had it not been for my brothers." Rudy Kuntz "Coming into college I knew that I wanted to be part of a group and be involved on campus like I was in high school. I had played four years of baseball, but could not continue at Baldwin Wallace. Not wanting any part of FSL life, I went to an information session where I saw many leaders that I new as my orientation leaders. As I met more people, I would later find out they would be greek. I chose Pi Lambda Phi because I felt the most at home with this group of men I could eventually call my brothers. What brought me in was the excitement I could see they had about the organization. I could see successful men on campus and men who were growing because of Pilam. After seeing that I knew that this was the right organization for me. After being in Pilam for three full years, I have not only grown as a person, but as a student at Baldwin Wallace. I am more confident that ever. I am able to talk or introduce myself to any person at anytime. I am in situations that I would have never been in before like being in Midnight-Madness or Student Senate. I am so thankful that I was brought into this organization and I cannot wait to bring in more brothers to share the experience that I have had." Tom Jackson "Joining Pi Lambda Phi introduced me to a community of people that I would not otherwise have met. It’s crazy to think that I wouldn’t know some of my closest friends if I hadn’t joined Pilam. It’s crazy too that I was so close to joining a different chapter. Recruitment week was difficult for me because I had to make such a big decision. After spending time with each chapter, though, I felt most “at home” in Pilam. Fortunately, I know I made the right choice. Everyone always says that joining Greek Life is life-changing, but it’s absolutely true; my college experience would not be anything like what it is today without Pi Lambda Phi.” |
